Set in a peaceful and secluded location is within walking distance of Bedgebury Forest, which offers 13km of bicycle tracks or a relaxing walk along wooded paths.  There is a lovely pub in the village of Kilndown which is a pleasant walk across the fields and along country lanes, approx 2½ miles.  Goudhurst village with a wide choice of very good pubs and restaurants in a 2 mile drive.

www.cranbrook.org   a small peaceful town of weatherboarded houses with narrow medieval streets offering a wide range of interesting shops, churches, pubs, restaurants, museum and working Union Windmill.
www.tenterdentown.co.uk  a must for steam enthusiasts is Tenterden Station, home of the Kent & Sussex Railway.  Trains running through the countryside to Northiam or stop of at Bodiam Castle en-route.
Sissinghurst Castle  is one of the most famous and wonderful gardens of the U.K designed by Vita Sackville-West.
Bewl Water  13 miles of walking and cycling around the man made lake.  Visitor centre offering passenger ferry boat, watersports, fishing and cycle hire.
Scotney Castle  A 14th Century moated ruined castle surrounded by wonderful romantic gardens.  Recently opened Victorian country house home of the late Hussey family.
Bedgebury Pinetum  has the most complete collection of conifers in the world.  Childrens play areas, cycling and bike hire, go ape and walking.
Finchcocks  A Georgian Manor house with celebrated collection of over 100 historical keyboard instruments.
Batemans  Jacobean house and the home of Rudyard Kipling surrounded by wooded landscape of the Sussex Weald.
Great Dixter  the family home and renowned gardens created by the late Christopher Lloyd.
Merriments  Increasingly popular show garden extending to 4 acres created within the last 20 years.  Garden centre and café.
